CBC Basketball League
Not your normal league.
Our Mission
Our mission is to use this basketball ministry as a tool to make a spiritual impact in our community and to strengthen the relationships within our church families. We look at this as an opportunity for people in our churches to serve, to share their faith, and to make an eternal difference in the lives of those they come in contact with. Our desire is to use the sport of basketball as a means to touch the lives of these young people and their families with the love of Christ.

-
Can my middle school/high school student who is playing on their school basketball team participate in your league? Per MHSAA rules, high school players as well as middle school girls who are on a school basketball team roster are not permitted to play on a recreation team during their season if it overlaps with our league. Please direct any questions regarding this policy to your school’s athletic director. Due to the fact that middle school boys' basketball season ends prior to the start of our season, they are able to register and play both.
-
Are there tryouts or experience needed to play? No tryouts or experience is required. Our league welcomes both experienced as well as brand new players and all in between. We do our best to spread players out evenly across teams so that each team is relatively balanced based on grade/age, experience level, and in some cases height.
-
Can I request a coach/teammate for my child? Due to the size of the league and multiple factors that we take into account when forming teams, we are unable to promise specific placements on teams or that friends will be placed together on the same team. Our goal is to keep teams as evenly balanced as possible based on grade and experience when determining placements. That being said, we are allowing registrants the option to share a preferred coach/teammate on the registration form this year. Once again, we do not guarantee specific placements with friends or coaches but will share with the coaches any requests received when forming teams.
-
What do I do if my child’s division is already filled? There is a link on the registration page to sign up on the Waitlist. If an opening becomes available, we will reach out to the next player on the waitlist for that division according to the date received. Once contacted, families will have a 24-hour window to either accept or decline the opening before we move on to the next person on the waitlist.
-
Can I put together my own team and join your league? This is not an option for our league. We strive to maintain an equal balance between teams when considering age and experience. All players will need to register through either the Naz or CBC registration and will be assigned a team based on our team selection process.
